My Story
Gabbie was born in 1985, and her childhood was a typical trans femme childhood for the time. Which is to say, it sucked, and isn't really worth writing home about.
Life got much better when she went to college at CU Boulder to study computer science. There, she started to transition and was proud to be a part of a documentary on trans students in college, Transgeneration. The documentary won a GLAAD award for best documentary, and she still has the award proudly displayed in her living room.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science. Having heard a few too many horror stories about working in the games industry, she decided instead to pursue a career in corporate software engineering. This worked out for a few years, but the passion to create was always with her. Eventually the desire to create won out, and she transitioned to work in game development, where she worked at Riot, Wildseed, and Unity.
However, just working on programming the games was not enough. She wanted to share the stories and worlds in her head, and so she decided to try her hand at writing. She fell in love with it quickly, and turned all of her creative energies towards writing. She is living off the savings from working in tech, and racing to become a successful author before the funding runs out.
Outside of writing, Gabbie does aerial circus. She's been training since 2018, and if she's not working on a new move in the air, she's teaching beginners on how to safely fly, primarily on the sling. Writing isn't the only outlet for her creativity, as she spends many weekends larping. Unsurprisingly, she is a huge book worm, and loves to spend time curled up on the couch with her cats, a book, and a hot cup of tea.
